Clarke chuffed with top award
9:20am Saturday 28th January 2012

Keeper Ryan Clarke admitted he was chuffed to bits after he won the Football League Precision GK Golden Gloves award for December.
The Oxford United stopper, who signed from Northwich in June 2009, kept a clean sheet in all four League Two games as the U’s beat Northampton and AFC Wimbledon both 2-0 and drew 0-0 at Morecambe and Torquay.
And while delighted to receive his accolade, Clarke also heaped praise on his defensive colleagues.
“I’m really chuffed to get the award, it’s the first time I have received it,” said Clarke.
“The lads in front of me deserve a lot of credit as well because we had a strong December.
“We didn’t concede any goals and it gave us a good platform to go on and get some good results.”
